OBSTINATE WINTER

She is anticipating
yet another storm,
another blinding
white sky that
eclipses the
round, full moon
in one of the
most beautiful
parts of the Midwest
keeping her at arm’s
length of her dreams.
This time, she
thinks, winter
means it.
